1993 - present |
In 1993 Marlies Dekkers started up her own lingerie brand Undressed with a fax next to her pillow and a grant from the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Driven by the desire to use her talents she produced a lingerie line which would help women to feel better about themselves and their bodies. Supported by her then partner Peter Wagenaar and her sister Anja, the designer managed to build up that cottage industry into what is today the MD Group: a company with around 100 employees and offices in the Netherlands and Hong Kong. Marlies Dekkers' lingerie has become an established brand worldwide with 1.000 selling points in 18 different countries. There are also six marlies|dekkers stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Thailand. Marlies Dekkers is not just the creative and business brain behind the company, but also its public face. |
